Over the years, we have had our fair share of garage sales! And Summertime is a great time to have a garage sale. (unless you live in Arizona of course).
Garage sales are the perfect way to declutter and simplify and make a little extra cash! You know what they say!-One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
Here are a few garage sale tips I’ve learned over the years:
-Choose a date and time that will work for both you and potential shoppers. Friday and Saturday mornings are usually the best times to hold a garage sale.
-Advertise your sale in advance. Place flyers around your neighborhood, and post an announcement on local online groups like swip swap. Make bright-colored neon signs using a poster board and a black marker. (make signs all the same color!)
-Go through your house and garage, and pull out anything that you no longer need or use.
-Price your items using stickers or tags. garage sale shoppers are looking for bargains, so price your items accordingly.
-Set up your garage or driveway early on the evening before the sale. Arrange your items in an organized and visually appealing way.
-Be prepared to make change.
-Open your doors early! And be prepared to bargain with shoppers. Garage sale shoppers expect to haggle, so be ready to negotiate on prices.
-Consider selling bottled water, soft drink, or even coffee!
By following these tips, you can hold a successful garage sale that will declutter your home and put some extra cash in your pocket.
