10 Ways to Sweeten Coffee Without Sugar

As promised, I’ve curated ten ways to enhance and sweeten coffee without sugar.

Some alternatives to sugar may not be as sweet as sugar, some much sweeter than sugar. Some are healthy alternatives, and some contain ingredients that have been said to be unhealthy.

1. Sugar-free Creamers

Some of the most popular and readily available Sugar-free coffee creamers are not the healthiest choices by any stretch of the imagination.

Coffee-mate and International delight creamers are two of the most popular on the market because they have terrific flavors and offer sugar-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free options.

Coffee-Mate Sugar-free Creamer

Coffee-Mate creamers are zero-sugar-free and come in various flavors such as French vanilla, Italian cream, coconut crème, and hazelnut.

Most coffee-mate sugar-free creamers are gluten- and lactose-free.

However, they contain oil, sucralose, Ace-K, and many other additives that I cannot pronounce.

More Coffee add-ins to Flavor Coffee:

More Ways to Enhance and Flavor Coffee without adding sugar:

  • Cinnamon and Nutmeg. I like cinnamon, and nutmeg can be a nice way to add flavor and enhance the taste of coffee. But I don’t feel like either one will sweeten your coffee.

  • Mint. Now I know one thing is for certain, mint is not sweet, and I don’t think it sounds like something I want in my coffee. Tea, maybe-but coffee. Not me. You?

  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder. I was surprised that some would think that adding Unsweetened Cocoa powder to coffee is good. EWWW.

First, unsweetened cocoa powder is in no way SWEET! And second, I would venture to say that unsweetened cocoa powder will make coffee taste bitter.

Adding Chocolate to coffee is a yes, but unsweetened cocoa powder is a hard no in my book.

  • Vanilla. Vanilla is nice. I love to enhance my coffee with vanilla. I just want to clarify that I would not say vanilla is sweet.
