How to Make Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies:

Who knew you could make cookies in an air fryer?!

Making peanut butter cookies in an air fryer is so easy you may never use your oven to make small batches of cookies again!

1. Combine all three ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Mix by hand until fully combined. (no electric mixer needed)

2. Pro Tip: Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. (very important!)

3. After the cookie dough is thoroughly chilled: Use a 1 ½-inch cookie scoop, or heaping tablespoon, to scoop cookie dough and then roll it into cookie dough balls.

*The dough is very sticky, so you can use a small amount of all-purpose flour (or almond flour to keep it gluten-free) to keep each little ball of dough from sticking to your hands.

4. Place cookie dough balls on the prepared piece of parchment paper in a single layer.

Using a fork, press the cookie flat, first in one direction, then again in the opposite direction, to make a crisscross pattern on the top of the cookies.

5. Baking directions: Set your air fryer at 370 degrees and cook them for 4 minutes. I like to keep a close eye on the first batch to ensure they don’t overbake. Adjust time as needed.

6. Rest time: Once cookies are light brown, let them rest in the air fryer for 4 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack

7. Store cooled cookies in a sealed container.

Tips and Tricks for Perfect Cookies:

Do not skip the chilling step. The cookies will overspread and become crumbly if the dough is not thoroughly chilled before baking.

-It’s also very important not to touch the cookies until they’ve been set for a minimum of 4 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack. This allows them to set up and not fall apart when removed from the air fryer.

-For best results, scoop the cookie dough onto the parchment paper on the air fryer tray so the cookies do not have to be transferred.

-Each air fryer is different. be sure to give enough space between the cookies to spread, and you’ll be good to go.

-This cookie dough is very sticky, so it’s best not to get your hands involved in the scooping process and stick to a scoop or spoon.

-Since Each air fryer has various cooking settings, you may have to adjust temperature and time. Start low (350 degrees) and adjust if needed.

-Store your leftover cookies at room temperature in an air-tight container.

FAQs: Delicious Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies

Should peanut butter cookie dough be refrigerated before air frying?

Yes, peanut butter cookie dough should be refrigerated before baking. You’ll want to ensure the dough is firm enough not to expand too much when baking with an air fryer.

Place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before placing it on top of parchment paper and into your air fryer.

How long will peanut butter cookies in the air fryer last?

Peanut butter cookies in the air fryer will stay fresh for up to a week when stored in an airtight container.

You can also freeze leftovers and enjoy them throughout the month.

However, just as with most desserts, PB cookies are the best straight out of the oven.

Why use parchment paper for this air fryer peanut butter cookie recipe?

Yes. Due to the breathing holes in the bottom of your air fryer, the cookies could seep through as the cooking process starts.

No one wants to clean up that mess! I don’t suggest tin foil as it will cause them to cook too quickly and unevenly. Parchment paper is the best and only choice.

Can you freeze air fryer peanut butter cookies?

Yes! Peanut butter cookie dough can be frozen for up to a month.

Simply place individual cookies on a baking sheet and freeze them for 30 minutes before transferring them to a freezer bag.

You can also freeze leftover air fryer peanut butter cookies to enjoy later. To defrost, allow the cookies to thaw overnight in your refrigerator before enjoying them.
